The Botel is, as the name suggests, a floating hotel on a boat.
Location.
Located at the NDSM Werf in Amsterdam North, The Botel is just 10 minutes ferry ride from Central Station. The ferry is free and runs until just after midnight during the week and 1 a.m on Friday and Saturday nights. Outside of these hours there's a free courtesy bus from central station.
Hotel Features.
Amstel Botel offers reasonably priced basic rooms. Wireless and wired high-speed Internet access is available in public areas (surcharges apply). Guest parking is complimentary at the moment, but the city council does have plans to start charging in this neighbourhood from 2012. The front desk is open 24 hours a day.
Guestrooms.
Some guestrooms have river views, but these are more expensive. You might also get disturbed on the river side by the ferries which run past the boat at 15 minutes intervals. Bathrooms feature showers. guestrooms also offer direct-dial phones, desks, and in-room safes. Televisions have satellite channels. Rooms also include blackout drapes/curtains, electronic/magnetic keys, irons/ironing boards, and clock radios. Guests may request hair dryers and wake-up calls. Cribs (infant beds) are available on request. Guestrooms are all non-smoking.
Location
The Botel is ideally located for exploring the centre of Amsterdam as well as the pretty north of Amsterdam. Bikes are available for rent from the reception.
