This condo-hotel is a great choice for families and couples alike. It is on one of the most beautiful bays in the Caribbean Sea. Half Moon Bay has been guarded for decades by the locals, and its coral-filled reef is impressively preserved. Definitely plan to snorkel the days away here – Joy, the local turtle and rightful owner of the bay, is worth every trip. The private balconies, with hammocks, overlook the bay; and, they provide great seats from which to watch the blast of colors that shoot across the sky at dawn, the serene Caribbean sunsets in the evenings, and the moonlight reflecting on the often still (or softly moving) waters at night.Most of the hotel units are one-bedroom, but they do have a few two-bedrooms available. All have modern kitchens with refrigerators, stoves, dishes, and purified water dispensers that are refilled throughout your stay. Most of them also have blenders and microwaves. In addition, the dining rooms open out to the balconies, the living rooms have large sofas to sleep an extra person, and the master bedrooms have king-size beds. They provide full housekeeping, including all kitchen cleaning, and meal delivery from the restaurant downstairs is available. (Once you try the restaurant, La Lunita, you'll know that this is not a small feature. It is one of the many joys of Akumal.)
