President Roosevelt camped along this trail in 1904.

Description:

Except for a couple busy spots, you'll hardly see anyone on this trail, yet there are numerous attractions: great views of Yosemite Valley, lesser known bits of history, geology and Sierra forests, and a chance to walk the Valley with a trail to yourself.
Look for several stretches of glacial moraine, a old CCC camp, a monument to Lafayette Bunnell, and two abandoned wagon roads from 1874-5.  You can park anywhere along the route to access the trail.  Bikes and pets are not allowed on this trail.  Plan on a 6 mile loop from El Capitan Bridge, down to Pohono Bridge and back up the other side.  The trail is mostly flat, with some short grades.
