Winter in Niagara
Description:
Winter is a beautiful time to visit Niagara. The crowds are gone, and Niagara Falls looks spectacular when it is covered in ice. The Falls is lit up on a nightly basis, and although all the attractions aren't open year round, you can get into many of them for a discounted price in the winter. The Great Wolf Lodge is a great place to stay in the winter, as it has one of the largest indoor waterparks in the Region. With a wave pool, a water roller coaster, and several waterslides, you could almost spend your whole vacation at the hotel. A new attraction-The Rink on the Brink, opened up in 2009 and is open until February 28th. You can skate the night away with a perfect view of Niagara Falls! If you plan your winter vacation to NIagara accordingly, it can coincide with some of the winter festivals that happen on a yearly basis. The Winter Festival of Lights goes from early November to early January, and the Ice Wine Festival takes place the last two weeks of January.Day One of this guide concentrates on Niagara Falls, while Day Two takes you to several wineries in Niagara on the Lake. It can be very cold here in the winter, but the sheer beauty of the landscape is worth it.
