Phoenix Park & Liberties
Phoenix Park is Europe's largest enclosed urban park, features herds of wild deer, a zoo and is also home to our tiny, leprechaun like president – what's not to love? Phoenix Park has plenty of leafy, forest walks to keep you occupied on a nice day and also provides a venue for many different events throughout the year from motor races to cross country races and family picnic events.
The Liberties meanwhile represent areas of inner city Dublin that are focused near the Old City. Walking around areas like Clanbrassil Street and Meath Street you might catch sight of a pony and trap or some real Dublin markets and street sellers. This is a little off the regular tourist track but is a true Dubliner hub of action. If you're looking for a more horticultural experience though perhaps take a stroll in Phoenix Park's Victorian Flower Gardens instead.
