Though it attracts a largely local clientèle, this American-style diner will make you forget you're in Egypt. The cozy interior holds a dozen or so wooden booths, and the attentive and efficient staff speak clear English. The breakfast menu features large portions of classic American morning fare, from pancakes and French toast to omelets, hash browns, and biscuits with gravy. For lunch and dinner, start off with appetizers like potato skins and nachos, then follow with fresh garden salads, club sandwiches, hearty burgers, or Mexican entrees such as tacos, fajitas and enchiladas. Free tea, coffee and soft drink refills will keep you from ever going thirsty. Anticipate a wait during lunch and dinner hours, as seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.
